A child's first steps are a milestone every parent celebrates. Yet, for children who contract polio, those steps may never come. A disease that once paralyzed hundreds of thousands of children each year still threatens communities where vaccination rates are too low. Rotary members walk because every child deserves the chance to run, play, and explore the world on their own two feet.

We walk so future generations can.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Central Time, Rotary clubs throughout District 6270 will join clubs across Rotary Zones 25B and 29 for the World's Largest Polio Walk. Together, more than 43,000 members of Rotary across 11 states will unite to raise awareness, support the fight to end polio, and demonstrate the power of Rotary in action.

Every step taken during the World's Largest Polio Walk represents a story. A story of children protected, communities strengthened, and a future made safer through Rotary's commitment to service.

For nearly four decades, Rotary members have worked with global partners through PolioPlus to help bring the world closer to eradicating polio. Since 1988, polio cases have declined by more than 99 percent, and billions of children have received life-saving vaccines. Yet, until polio is eliminated everywhere, children remain at risk. That is why Rotary continues to take action.

The walk is designed so every club and community can participate. Clubs can organize their own local walk, invite community partners, create fundraising opportunities, and share Rotary's message that a polio-free world is within reach.

Speak Out by sharing Rotary's polio eradication story with your friends, family, and neighbors – and inviting them to join the fight to end polio.
