Our purpose as a District is to serve our Clubs and we invite you to join a District Committee. You will not only help us support our Clubs, but your involvement will also grow your Rotary experience.  We need motivated individuals who are inspired to put Service Above Self. So, if there is a committee or a position that interests you, contact the Committee's Chair. Established District Committees, open to growing their teams

Foundation Committee 

Description: Handles the fundraising for The Rotary Foundation (TRF) at several levels. Monitors the spending of money sent to the District by TRF. Subcommittees include Fundraising – Annual giving, PolioPlus, Paul Harris Society, Major Donors, Endowment Fund, Benefactors, and Bequest Society. Donations – International Service & Grants, District Grants, Rotary Peace Fellowship, Scholarships, Vocational Training Teams. Stewardship – Tracking and controls of expenditures
Requirements – commitment to TRF’s goals; ability to tell a story when explaining the work of the TRF. Some financial knowledge in the stewardship sub-committee. 
 

Learning Facilitation Committee

Description: Handles the Workshops and Learning Opportunities for the district. Works with Rotary’s tools to help clubs become stronger through education.
Requirements – Willingness to learn the mechanisms of www.rotary.org. Not afraid of technology. Will work with the team to develop the Club Leadership Academy programs to be presented by District 6270. Will coordinate club learning sessions.
 

Membership Committee

Description:  Works to increase membership in Rotary throughout the district. Works with clubs to enhance recruitment and facilitate orientation and training of new members.
Requirements – some experience with Rotary recruiting at the club level. Awareness of training tools available and how to work with an orientation of new members. Interest in making Rotary grow. Ability to work with clubs on an as-needed basis.
 

Public Image Committee

Description:  Works to ensure that clubs and District 6270 project the proper image in promotions, advertising, websites, and correspondence. Works with clubs to promote fundraising events and publicity for service projects.
Requirements – interest in adherence to the Rotary logo and graphic specifications. Help clubs with promotional materials. Promotes positive impression of Rotary at both Club and District level.
Openings – We're looking for someone to 
  • Maintain a clear and impactful social media schedule and presence (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
 

Grants Committee

Description:  Works to manage District grants funding small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in a Club’s community and communities abroad. Each district chooses which activities it will fund with these grants.
Requirements – Commitment to District Grant goals; Publicize when District Grants are available. Work with the team during the selection process. Committee members ensure the application and follow-up procedures are followed by the clubs, encouraging the highest levels of stewardship and transparency, and submitting reports on a timely basis to the District and TRF.
 

Polio Plus Committee

Description:  The PolioPlus Society is a District 6270 program to promote individual giving to PolioPlus.  Members of the Society agree to give $100 per year toward polio eradication until polio is wiped out of the world.
Requirements – Interest and commitment to End Polio Now!
 

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Committee (WASH)

Description:  Works to promote water and sanitation projects within the district. Helps clubs with access to materials relating to WASH projects. Encourages clubs to use WASH-RAG (Rotary Action Groups) resources in doing projects. Works with the International Committee to help with WASH global grants when needed.
Requirements – Interest in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene projects. Ability to work with clubs as an outside advisor. Familiarity with WASH-RAG and its resources. Familiar with project management as it relates to Rotary grants.
 

Youth Activities Committee

Description:  Works with Rotary Youth Exchange (high school) program, which involves adherence to Youth Protection standards. Helps clubs establish Interact clubs in high schools.
Requirements – interest in working with the next generation of Rotarians to grow Rotary in our District. Will need to take the Youth Protection workshop and qualify for contact with high school-aged youth.
 

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI)

Description:  Works with Rotary Clubs and the District to help ensure that the makeup of our Rotary Clubs reflects the areas that we serve. Works with the District Learning Facilitation Committee to conduct workshops and seminars on how to diversify membership in clubs.
Requirements – Interest in promoting DEI in our clubs. Works with the District Membership Committee to help clubs recruit a representative cross-section of the communities that we serve.
 

Rotaract Committee

Description:  Works with existing Rotaract Clubs to ensure their success. Works in areas of potential to establish Rotaract Clubs with the assistance of local Rotary Clubs.
Requirements – interest in growing Rotary. Some experience in starting new clubs. Willing to work with college-age youth.
 

Technology Committee

Description:  Works with Rotary Clubs and the District to help bring their communication up to current levels, such as social media, websites, and use of Rotary.org and My.Rotary.org websites. Also, assist with technological issues in workshops and seminars.
Requirements - Interest and experience with current technology, ClubRunner, or DacDB. Willingness to work with the District and Clubs seeking improvement. Able to assess the current situation of clubs and work on potential solutions to deficiencies.

Rotary Friendship Exchange Committee (RFE)

Description: RFE is a program that gives Rotarians and their families the opportunity to experience other cultures firsthand. This is done by participating in reciprocal visits with Rotarians from other countries and their families.
Requirements - interest to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace through person‐to‐person contact across national boundaries, are motivated by a sincere desire to learn about others and to share international fellowship, and looking for a fun and exciting opportunity that can be an effective tool in promoting better human relations around the world.
