Youth Exchange - Inbound

Each year this Rotary District hosts between 20-30 international students. The ages of the students are from 16-19 years old. They are typically hosted by three families for four months each. Hosting is a wonderful opportunity for the entire family. Each family member is able to interact with an international student, perhaps learning some of their language, certainly learning some of their culture and how it differs from ours. Host Family Info

The family is expected to treat the student as they would their own children, and not as a guest in the house. Sample Questions to Ask Host Family

This is what the host family is expected to supply for the international student:
1. Room (Study area and separate bed are required. Separate bedroom not required.
2. Board
3. Participation in family activities (going out to eat, to the movies, family outings)
4. For the family to show them a typical American family and culture.
