Youth Exchange

A successful Youth Exchange experience involves a Rotary Club, a student, and parents, all working together toward the goal of making the student's experience the best year of their life. We have included information on Rotary Youth Exchange for the Rotary Clubs of District 6270, our Inbound and Outbound students, prospective student participants, and their parents. It is the duty of all Rotarians, Rotarian’s spouses, partners, and any other volunteers to safeguard the welfare of children and young people with whom they come into contact. Inbound Program

International students, between the ages of 15-1/2 - 18-1/2 years old, live with a host family. Students live with one host family for four months and then stay with another host family for four more months. The student will live with a total of three host families. View Forms

Outbound Program

This program for full-year travel, including school, in another country, where you will be hosted by a Rotary District and Rotary Club. Students will live with a family or several families in the nation they are visiting. View Forms.

Summer Program

The Rotary Summer Program is a one-for-one exchange from one to six weeks, determined by the families. A Rotary sponsor club is required. This program is for students aged 15-19. There is a $200 application fee. The Mutual Exchange usually runs for 3-4 weeks during June, July or August (southern hemisphere countries may send student in January). A mandatory orientation session will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 (1- 4 pm CST) in Antigo, WI (Location announced later). Deadline to apply is February 28, 2010.

Matching process depends on applications from both directions, and gender. The families decide the length of the exchange stay. Learn more.
