Sweden's District 2330 Arrives

Hosting clubs include Milwaukee Downtown Rotary with assistance from Whitnall Park, Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise, Manitowoc and Two Rivers, Oshkosh Southwest, Fond du Lac Morning with assistance from Ripon and Elmbrook. If you are interested in hearing their presentation contact these clubs for further information. The team will also be doing their presentation at District Conference on May 15.

Committee members and family are invited to attend Elmbrook Rotary's tailgate party at the Brewer’s vs. Houston ball game on Tuesday, May 25. Please bring your own food and drinks for the tailgating which will begin about 5:30 for the 7:05 game. Contact Jan Constable at (262) 784-1997 for info. Host families have been invited to attend this farewell party for the Swedish GSE team. Come and join the fun and cheer the Brewers to victory!

Bo Bergman (Team Leader)
Bo is a charter member, since 1984, of his Rotary Club in Fransta, right in the middle of Sweden.  He was club president in 1986-87 and chair of the GSE program in 1992-96.  Bo has made 3 previous GSE trips to Brazil-1992, New Zealand- 1994 and Philippines-1996.  He has also traveled on 2 Friendship Exchanges to Arizona-1995 and So. Africa-2005.  Bo was District Governor 2006-07 and has held Zone 15 positions with disaster relief and water and sanitation.  He ran a corrugated card box company for 18 years and is now retired.  His hobbies include golf and moose hunting.

Anna-Karin Lindberg
Anna's hometown is Soderhamn, Halsingland County.  Anna-Karin has a degree in Occupational Therapy and Equine Assisted Therapy and has been working in her field for 6 years.  She wishes to become a psychotherapist and keep working with Equine Assisted Therapy.  Anna-Karin is single and her family consists of her parents and a brother.  Her hobbies are horses and her home.  She prefers vegetarian food and fish, avoiding red meat.  Anna-Karin hopes to meet people and exchange experiences from life and work.  She also wants to learn more about rehabilitation with humans and horses.

Sandra Pettersson
Sandra is from Soderhamn.  Sandra has a degree in elementary school teaching and works with children age 6-8.  She enjoys working with her class of 24 students.  She is interested in studying the Reggio Emilia approach to learning.  Sandra is engaged to Michael with whom she lives with her cat, Elmer.  She is allergic to fish and seafood.  Sandra hopes the GSE experience will help her grow as a person as well as in her profession as she learns about the American school system and curriculum.  She wants to develop her skills in speaking and listening to English. Hobbies include golf, long walks, boating, flea markets and antique furniture.

Evert Boeye
Evert calls Ostersund, Jamtland County home.  He is from Belgium and has lived in Sweden for 9 years.  He has a degree of BS in construction. Evert works as a government official for the Swedish Road Administration as a project leader.  He works closely with entrepreneurs, contractors and municipalities. Evert is engaged to Helena and has 2 children; Hjalmar age 6 and Lisen age 4.  He says he has no allergies and eats everything!  His hobbies include cross country skiing, photography, keeping fit, reading and fishing (winter and summer).

Marcus Orrebo
Marcus is from Hometown is Borlange, Dalarna County.  He and his wife work in a family owned clothing store and hopes someday to own the business with his wife, Erika.  He has a 3-year degree and also serves as an airport firefighter and security officer.  He has a daughter, Isabella age 12 and a son, Felix age 3.  Marcus has allergies to cats, dogs, horses and grass during spring but no food requirements. Marcus hopes to work on his English ability and his personal development. His hobbies are Crossfit, a kind of fitness workout and snowmobiles.
