Group Study Exchange

Group Study Exchange (GSE) is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young professional women and men. The GSE program is designed to develop professional and leadership skills so the participants can better address the needs of their communities and in an increasingly global workplace.

Group Study Exchange with D2330 of Sweden

In the spring of 2010, District 6270 will partner with District 2330 (central part of Sweden) on a Group Study Exchange. District 2330 will be receiving District 6270 outbound team on April 19, 2010. We will be welcoming the GSE from District 2330 in Sweden on May 1, 2010. Exchanges are usually four weeks long and include team member vocational visits and visits to local business, government offices and historical & cultural sites. For a true cultural experience team members and team leaders normally stay with host Rotarian families during the exchange.

We are accepting applications for Rotarian team leaders and non-Rotarian team members. Please send your applications to Jan Constable, at jrconstable @sbcglobal.net or to Alice Sedgwick at ssedgwick@wi.rr.com

Participant Activities

Team Leaders

Team leader has the responsibility to build a well- informed and cohesive team, to orient team members about Rotary, and to assist them in preparing the program to present in Sweden. While in Sweden, the team leader represents the district governor and acts as an advisor and counselor to the team members. Round trip transportation between the two countries is covered by RIF. Host Rotarians will provide meals, lodging and group travel within their district. Incidental and personal expenses are the individual’s responsibility.

Team Members

Team members are 25-40 year-old, personable district residents who are employed and enthusiastic about their professions. They are citizens of the USA, not children or grandchildren of current Rotarians. Prior to the exchange, team members meet for orientation and prepare the presentation. After the exchange, team members write a report and prepare presentations about the exchange to share with Rotary Clubs in District 6270.
