Clothing Drive for City of Eagle Tornado Victims - June 25

The Community Clothing Drive will assist families whose homes were destroyed in the Eagle tornado. Gently used clothing items and shoes for men, women and children will be collected. Drop clothing off at the Westbury Bank (1231 South Rochester Street Mukwonago). Brooklife Church youth group will take drop offs in the parking lot. The clothing drive will take place Friday June 25 from 9-12 noon. Monetary donations can be sent directly to the American Red Cross 2600 W. Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee, WI. 53223 with Eagle Tornado as the memo. One hundred percent of these good will offerings will be split between the families affected by the devastating storm. Westbury Bank (Mukwonago) and Brooklife Church have organized this drive. Contact the Mukwonago Chamber of Commerce with any questions at (262) 363-7758.

International Service Opportunities

The Hartland-Lake Country Rotary Club is looking for volunteers to participate in two service projects in Haiti, the Vision Project and Dental Project identified below. For information email Dr. Ken Schumann or call (920) 474-4731.

Vision Project

We will test people’s eyes and distribute free eyeglasses when needed. We are in need of Optometrists or Ophthalmologists to examine those with serious eye problems and assist the volunteers in selecting proper prescription eyewear.

Dental Project

Practice in a portable dental office in a school building. Most of the people will need extractions. A portable dental unit and evacuation system is available and there is electricity. We need dentists and dental assistants. A team of two dentists would work best.

The Guatemala Medical Relief Program (GMRP)

The GMRP is need of sunglasses for the vision part of their program. The workers in the fields especially need eye protection. We collected over 500 pairs last year. Our goal this year is 750 pairs. You can bring the glasses to the Fall Seminar or mail to Don Drecktrah, 4212 No Ardmore Ave., Shorewood, WI. Email questions to dond@milwpc.com. Thanks in advance for your donations.

Mitchell Field Rotary is looking for any club that might have done a project in Honduras, so they we can make initial contact in the District.
