ZONE Nominations for RI Director
Every two years, our District has the opportunity and privilege to nominate a candidate from our District to serve on the Zone 28 -29 nominating Committee for the office of Rotary International Director. Our current RI Director is Mary Beth Growney-Selene from Zone 28, whose term will be completed June 30, 2015. Our RI Director Elect is Jennifer Jones from Zone 29. Jennifer’s term starts July 1,2015 and will conclude June 30. 2017. Therefore it is time for this District to nominate a qualified candidate to serve on the Nominating Committee. Additionally, we need to select an alternate.
The nomination process is not an appointed process – it is an elected position. We need to complete certain steps for this nomination process.
Step 1: With this notification – each club is being asked to submit a name of a qualified candidate to serve on the Zone 28-29 nominating committee. A qualified candidate is any person who has successfully served as a District Governor.
Step 2: All club nominations must be received by me, Mary Beth Seiser, at the email address listed below no later than May 1, 2015.
Step 3: As part of the District meeting agenda at the Tri-Con District Conference, being held in Appleton on May 15, an election will be held determining our Nominating committee candidate and an alternate.
Step 4: The candidate’s name will be forwarded to the Rotary International Office of the Secretariat prior to June 1, 2015.
Our failure to comply will result in our District not being represented on the Nominating Committee.
Summarizing the process of a candidate for the Nominating Committee:
Please bring this matter before your club. Seek out qualified candidates from the pool of Past District Governors (PDG’s). Submit name to me prior to May 1. Attend the District Annual Business meeting being held at the Tri-Con on May 15th in Appleton. The business meeting is 9:00 AM on Friday. Vote on this agenda item. Our candidate’s name will then be forwarded to RI.
