From PDG Mary Beth Seiser

Now that the 2014-2015 Rotary year has officially come to an end I would like to send a huge THANK YOU to all of the Rotarians, club officers, and district leaders in D6270.

We ended the year on a high note – beating our funding goals for both the Annual Fund and the Polio Plus fund.

Our goal for the 2014-2015 Annual fund was $249,800 and with 94% of the clubs participating, we are at $260,378.    This not only beat our goal by more than $10,000,  but it is more than $31,000 above last year’s total!

Our district goal for PolioPlus was $50,940 and with 63% of clubs participating, we ended with $59,209.     With the matching funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, that means $177,627 will be our gift to the fight against polio.

In addition to the monetary contributions this past year, there have been many, many wonderful service projects, both local and International, among the clubs in our district.

All of you who participated in projects, or made donations to the Annual Fund or the PolioPlus fund,  should sleep very well at night knowing that there are children who will live because YOU provided clean water, and parents who can support their families because YOU provided job training, and children who will not suffer from Polio because YOU provided immunizations,  and children who can attend school because YOU provided books, computers, or tuition, and families who have a home because YOU helped with a homeless shelter.

Thank you again, and please continue to     LIGHT UP ROTARY     as we work this year to      BE A GIFT TO THE WORLD.

Sincerely,

PDG Mary Beth
